When to visit

DRY SEASON : May to August

HOT & RAINY SEASON : September to May

Atlantic Coast & Namibe Desert

The ideal time to visit Angola’s Atlantic Coast and the Namibe Desert is between May and October, during the dry season. These months bring cooler, more pleasant temperatures, very little rainfall, and clear skies, creating perfect conditions for exploring the desert landscapes and reaching coastal areas with ease.

Malanje

Malanje is best visited during the dry season, which runs from May through October, with May, June, and September being especially popular months. During this time, travelers can expect plenty of sunshine, little rainfall, and generally pleasant temperatures—perfect for exploring attractions such as Kalandula Falls.

Kalandula Falls

A great time to experience Kalandula Falls in Angola is during or shortly after the rainy season, from December through April. During these months, the waterfall is at its fullest, and the surrounding scenery is vibrant and green. Although traveling in the dry season, between June and September, may make road access easier, the falls are far more impressive when the water flow is at its strongest.

Curoca-Oncócu

The best time to visit tribes in southern Angola (such as the Mucubal, Himba, and Muila) is during the dry season, specifically from June to October. During these months, the weather is mild, sunny, and, most importantly, the dirt roads in the southwestern region are accessible

Lubango

Lubango is best explored during the dry season, from May to October. At this time of year the climate is cooler and much less humid, creating excellent conditions for sightseeing. Clear skies and more reliable road access make it especially suitable for visiting the breathtaking mountain landscapes in the area
